Eligibility


Organization Category

Businesses, academic organizations or research institutions with outstanding performance in the integration, innovation and value creation of culture, technology and services or that have made an influential, innovative or creative contribution to the development of industry in Taiwan, are considered paradigms of industry innovation. As long as they comply with the following award regulations, they are qualified to take part in the competition:

  1. Distinguished/Outstanding Enterprise Innovation Award
    1. Qualifications
      1. General business group: Public or private business legally registered for two years or more and still in operation.
      2. SME group: SME complying with Executive Yuan’s “Standards for Identifying SME” and legally registered for two years or more and still in operation.
    2. Limitations
      1. An organization that had received the Distinguished Enterprise Innovation Award before is not eligible to receive the same award again for the next three terms.
      2. An organization that had received the Outstanding Enterprise Innovation Award are not eligible to receive an equivalent award for the next two terms.(The participation is permitted, but if the organization cannot be promoted to distinguished award, the award will be cancelled.)
  2. Distinguished/Outstanding Academic and Research Institution Innovation Award
    1. An organizations that has received the Distinguished Academic Achievement in Industrial Innovation Award or Distinguished Research Institution Innovation Award before is not eligible to receive the same award again for the next three terms.
    2. An organization that has received the Outstanding Academic Achievement in Industrial Innovation Award or Outstand Research Institution Innovation Award is not eligible to receive the equivalent award for the next two terms.(The participation is permitted, but if the organization cannot be promoted to distinguished award, the award will be cancelled).

Outstanding” and “Distinguished” awards are reviewed and recommended by judges based on the registered field. “Distinguished” award requires “Outstanding” qualification; furthermore, it will be recommended by various review teams to advance to the second stage of the review process.

Team Category

Teams within businesses, research institutions, universities and colleges in Taiwan with outstanding performance in R&D, integrated services, innovation, or that have made an influential, innovative or creative contribution to industrial development in Taiwan, as long as they comply with the following award regulations are qualified to take part in the competition:

  1. Innovative Trailblazer of the Year
    1. Award target
    2. The participating team must combine diverse innovations including culture, technology and services, and the research outcome must be of significant influence or importance in creating industry value in any one of the following fields: technology, products, procedure, management, marketing or services. Furthermore, it must exert an innovating and pioneering effect on domestic industrial development, and should make an outstanding contribution to innovation and value creation within the domestic industry.

    3. Award scope
    4. The participating team must present influential industry innovation achievements that are domestically and internationally reputable, promote innovative trends, original or have received international awards (including technical or non-technical innovations). In addition, the achievements should also possess iconic meaning that leads industry transformation, innovative management models and new lifestyles.

    5. Limitation
    6. A team that has received the Innovative Trailblazer of the Year is not eligible to receive the same award for the next two terms.

  2. Model of Local Industry Innovation Award
    1. Award target
    2. Participating teams need to combine systems integration with alliance development, technological breakthroughs and the industry characteristics of various municipalities to play an important role in promoting local industry innovation and making outstanding contributions, thereby increasing industry competitiveness, developing local industry characteristics and fostering an industry cluster effect.Participants in the award must focus on its contributions to specific areas within the location where the accomplishment was attained. Furthermore, the agency seal of township/town/city level or above must be affixed to prove the local municipality’s recognition towards the participant’s contribution.

    3. Award scope
    4. Participating teams must have made substantial achievements in promoting local industry innovation over the past three years.

    5. Limitation
    6. A team that has received the Model of Local Industry Innovation Award is not eligible to receive the same award for the next two terms.

  3. Indusry Innvation Alliance Award
    1. Award target
    2. The participating team must be actively involved in the formation of industry-university-research team alliances, promote cross-industry cooperation, establish a regional industrial innovation ecosystem, effectively promote cross-industry cooperation, contribute to industrial technology integration (upstream, middle and downstream), reduce repeated investment in innovation resources, and overall Outstanding contributions to the sound development of the industry.To participate in this award, you need to focus on the formation of the industry-university-research team alliance, explain the cooperation methods and related benefits, and put forward a list of cooperation in the registration form.

    3. Award scope
    4. The team must have made substantial achievements over the past three years in the formation of industry-university-research team alliances, promote cross-industry cooperation.

    5. Limitation
    6. A team that has received the Indusry Innvation Alliance Award is not eligible to receive the same award for the next two terms.

Individual Category

  1. Innovation Elite Award
    1. Award target
    2. Citizens of Taiwan who have made influential, innovative and creative contributions to the promotion of technological or non-technological innovation and innovative models.

    3. Qualifications
      1. General individual group
      2. Innovation personnel or supervisors currently employed in businesses, research institutions, colleges or universities in Taiwan.

      3. Woman group
      4. Women currently employed in businesses, research institutions, colleges or universities in Taiwan.

      5. Youth group
      6. Young men and women who were born after January 1, 1975 (under the age of 39) and currently employed in businesses, research institutions, colleges or universities in Taiwan.

  2. Industry-Academia Collaboration Award
    1. Award target
    2. Citizens of Taiwan who have currently working in colleges and universities in Taiwan.
