Mission of NIIA
In order to encourage domestic enterprises, schools, research institutions and individuals to commit to industry innovation, thereby integrating cultural innovation, technological innovation and service innovation while establishing Taiwan’s soft power and fostering industry upgrade, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has created the National Industrial Innovation Award (NIIA). The award will be organized by the Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT).
Award targets
Legally registered businesses, schools, research institutions and natural persons.
Award category
The goal is to encourage domestic businesses, schools and research institutions that have demonstrated unique accomplishments and contributions.
The goal is to to encourage teams within domestic businesses, schools and research institutions to achieve outstanding results and foster local industry innovation for those who have performed outstandingly in the fields of collaboration, fundamental technological development and cross-over/cross-discipline integration.
The goal is to to encourage individuals within the industry, academia and research sectors who have made contributions or attained unique achievements in industry innovation.
Award selection
Preliminary review: Scholars and experts invited by the review convener and group convener will form a review team. Secondary review: Related senior officers from various government agencies within MOEA, experts and scholars invited by the review convener and group convener will form a review team.

A representative from the Minister of Economic Affairs will act as the chairperson to convene a meeting of senior officials from related government agencies, technology managers and industry innovation experts to form the advisory committee in final assessment.
*The award selection arrangements entrusted to legal persons or organizations by the MOEA will be executed by the implementing organization in accordance with industry technology policy and industry development trends. The awards will be presented to the MOEA for approval.
